Title HEY BOYS - Less Than Perfect Skin

It's okay to admit your skin is less than perfect. Lucky for you, we have an easy cure for all your ailments. Blistering sun, pounding rain, wind, snow, sleet and hail - sounds like a recipe for a natural disaster? While these elements may make the climate cringe, they can also be a recipe for the depletion of your skin's epidermis.

The epidermis is the outer layer of your skin - the human body's largest organ. Weather and the envioronment are primary causes of dry skin, but they're not the only culprits. Several skin conditions - acne, shaving rashes, and eczema - can also be caused by the kinds of foods you eat, emotional crises and heredity. This is something you can do to boost your skin's appearance. Let's "face" it, boys - you don't want to look like a sun dried tomatoe by the time you reach retirement. Now's the time to adopt healthy habits to keep your whole body looking skintastic.

Desert Dry Skin
Arid weather and a lack of hydration makes skin as dry as the Arizona desert. However, sand can help to replenish the epidermis and bring it back to its natural health. Suffering from desert-dry skin, cracks, peeling, blisters and corns on your feet? Help is just a step away. Take a barefoot stroll on the sand or, if you're nowhere near a bach, use a foot scrub containing sand. The rough particles will exfoliate your skin to reeal its attractive smoothness. While not as relaxing as going to the beach, it will have the desired effect by making your feet feel refreshed. Another option is to combine honey with oatmeal to create a paste that can be applied to the face, arms, legs and feet. Leave it on for approximately 30 minutes before removing with a damp, warm cloth. Afterwards, apply cocoa butter or olive oil to smoothen any remaining rough or dry patches.

The Weight of Water
Hydrate, hydrate and hydrate. Make that your mantra, especially if you suffer from dry skin or other skin irritations. Drink loads of water. Eight to 10 glasses every day is recommended to rid your body of any toxicity as well as give your skin a health, handsome glow.

Axe Your Acne
Tea tree oil is like an all-purpose cleaner for a number of ailments, including acne, which is caused by overactive sebacious glands. Extracted from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia (a plant ntive to Australia). the oil contains anti-fungal and antiseptic properties, both of which aid in eliminating acne. You can also apply a dab of honey to the affected area before washing with a warm cloth after a couple of hours. Try that once a day for at least a week to sart seeing results. Among other natural treatments you can try is a combination of water with a few drops of esential rosemary oil, two times daily. It will act as a natural toner.

Diet also counts when it comes to clear skin. Eat plenty of leafy greens to clean out your system. Apple cider vinegar has also been know to help treat acne. But not only in your food. Just pour onto a cotton ball and dab onto the affected area twice a day.

Strange Shaving Brew
Faced with red skin after your morning shave? Try to cut down on using shaving lotions and colognes that contain high quantities of alcohol. The alcohol contained in many brands of aftershave tends to be very strong and harsh and can dry out your skin. This is expecially true if you have sensitive skin that's prone to dryness, redness or other irritations.

For those of you who drink beer, there's no accounting for the dual purpose that the classic combination of barley, wheat, corn, rice, hopes and what-have-you serves. Not only can you drink it, but you can becomes your own brew master by using beer as a face mask to help invigorate your skin. This is one form of alchhol that can actually help, not hurt. Just pour some cold beer - choose your least favorite brand because it's not imperative that you use the good stuff for a facial - onto a washclogh until dampened. Place the cloth over your fact and leave for 30 minutes until slowly removing the cloth to reveal radiant skin.

You won't evern recognize yourself - you'll look that good. The treatment will lift and tighten your skin, while also cooling it, allowing it to breathe and clean out clogged pores.

There's yet another brew that can help your skin. To reduce inflammation caused by shaving and to help ease razor burn, place cold, slightly dampened tea bags onto the affect area. You may also want to immerse a cloth in cold chamomile tea and apply to your skin.

Strike Out Eczema
Often the result of too few omega-3 fatty acids in the diet, eczema is a skin disease with symptoms including inflammation, dryness, redness and flaking. In more extreme cases, these can escalate into an insufferable stage where the skin can develop liquid-filled bumps or scaling patches. Not good. Lucky for you there are some natural remedies you can try to alleviate the pain and discomfort of eczema.

According to London, England's Natural History Museum website, eating raw carrots and parsnips, introduced into your diet in small quantities to start, is one way to help ease symptoms of eczema. The site also recommends rubbing banana skin over the area, which will cause a burning sensation at the beginning, but should prove effective with continued application. Increasing your intake of foods containing omega-3 fatty acids is also helpful to combat eczema. Foods that are rich in omega-3 include salmon, tuna, walnuts, flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds. The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids extend far beyond a treatment for eczema. They also help in treating depression asthma, artritis and cardiovascular disease. Containing cleansing. anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, the goldenseal hearb soothes itching to help with healing eczema. Just form a past of goldenseal root powder, vitamin E oil and spot of honey before applying the affected area.
