Oxygen Dissociation Curve... overheating, acidic pH, metabolites, and CO2 cause hemoglobin to release oxygen more readily in the muscles, and also to uptake oxygen less readily in the lungs. Body'Fit pH Fitness™ or pHx™ is an innovative 24-exercise aerobic warm-up that uniquely meets metabolic requirements of all tissues while sustaining homeostatic equilibrium. Keeping metabolite build-up to a minimum with highly economical dynamic stretching while improving total body circulatory balance results in an increase in the ability of hemoglobin to uptake oxygen in the lungs in order to match its release in the tissues (equitably in muscles and organs).

Overheating: Even though the temperature in the lungs is lower than in the tissues during the hyperventilation typically caused by physical exertion, overall temperature is much higher than that produced during the Body'Fit pH Ftiness routine at all levels of its performance due to its prevention of vessel constriction in deep tissues which reduces heat dispersal. Keeping the internal temperature of the body relatively cool as metabolic rate rises, improves the affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen in the lungs so it's more closely matched to the release of oxygen in the tissues.

Elevated CO2 concentration: As soon as the blood that contains elevated CO2 reaches the medulla, it stimulates hyperventilation. Usually during exercise the CO2 concentration does not drop to normal in the lungs. During hyperventilation a new equilibrium is reached at which the carbon dioxide concentration in the alveoli is slightly elevated and hyperventilation persists as long as the physical exertion. Only a small percentage increase in CO2 will cause the decrease in affinity of hemoglobin with oxygen in the lungs. This is the Bohr effect - the rise in H+ and drop in pH of the blood happens during exercise that triggers hyperventilation because deoxygenated hemoglobin in the tissues binds with H+ more actively than it binds with the oxygen molecule. In addition, the much greater dissociation constant of deoxygenated hemoglobin makes it much more capable of absorbing H+ near a pH range of 7.4. The consequence of both is that the affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen in the lungs is reduced. In addition, a by-product of glycosis, 2.3-DPG, binds with hemoglobin reducing affinity for the oxygen molecule. In individuals who are chronically exposed to hypoxia such as althletes who train frequently, exercise produces significantly higher amounts of 2,3-DPG.  Body'Fit pH Fitness patterns of breathing and movement are specifically designed to prevent hypoxia, maintain optimal circulation of electrolytes to all tissues equitably, produce a CO2/O2 ratio closer to 1, maintain H+ levels at a normal alkaline pH, and render hyperventilation unnecessary at
Peak Metabolic Potential™ (PMP™). Therefore affinity of hemoglobin for oxygen in the lungs during performance of the Body'Fit pH Fitness routine goes up significantly, and even more so with increasing speed and intensity making it a truly aerobic workout.

Alkaline pH Balance: Body'Fit pH Fitness increases consumption of oxygen in all tissues without a drop in pH; there's an overall greater gas exchange increase in both lungs and tissues. As the amount of O2 bound to hemoglobin increases with Body'Fit pHx, the amount of oxygen dissolved in the plasma increases. Because cells will take up the plasma oxygen first, and then the hemoglobin oxygen only when plasma oxygen is used up, the total amount of oxygen available to the cells increases beyond that which the hemoglobin is carrying. Therefore even under conditions of enemia, the cells receive more oxygen when the R Ratio (oxygen to carbon dioxide) is sutained at normal levels, the lung ventilation/ perfusion V/Q ratio stays optimal, and body pH balance is restored during Body'Fit pH Fitness as metabolic rate rises, mitigating the effects on the oxygen dissociation curve that typically occur during physical training helping to get More Out of Exercise™ in general.
